DewPoint runs on a small number of servers in a rented rack at a colocation facility. You would share the care of those servers with Mark Ross, our Lead Infrastructure engineer. Mark will hand over the day-to-day work during your first month and remain available afterwards.
What you will do
Watch the nightly maintenance run (03:00 UTC) and the morning report, and follow up on anything that did not finish.
Keep the server inventory and the colocation paperwork current.
Carry the on-call pager one week in two.
Visit the facility when hardware needs attention.
What we are looking for
Three or more years running Linux servers.
Experience with RAID, backups and restores.
Comfort at a command line, and scripts in shell or Python.
Able to get to the data center on short notice.
Helpful
Experience with colocation contracts and cross-connects.
Send a resume and a short description of one system you have kept running.
